Tim Schmidt is a Wealth Advisor, author, certified executive coach, international speaker and consultant who lives a blended “7 F’s” life (from his book What Really Works: Blending the 7 F’s for the Life You Imagine). He earned his MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg Graduate School of Management and a bachelor’s degree in accounting and economics from Augustana College. He also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
Until January 2018, Tim Schmidt was the senior vice president and chief investment officer at Prudential Financial, Inc. He is responsible for asset/liability management, portfolio construction and investment strategy for Prudential’s global business operations. In addition to his responsibilities at Prudential, Schmidt serves on the board of directors for Ridgeview Foundation in Waconia, Minnesota. He is also on the boards of GAMA International and Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota.
During his tenure at Prudential, Tim Schmidt has been responsible for directing the firm’s Global Investment Policy and managing its asset/liability portfolios worldwide. He has also been a key player in Prudential’s investment strategy and development of new and innovative products.
For example, he has led the development of the firm’s new hedge funds and alternative investments. He has also served on the board of directors for Prudential’s Retirement Services business and as a member of the executive leadership team.
Additionally, Schmidt has been responsible for identifying and overseeing the development of new business lines and strategic partnerships. He has also helped lead the development of the firm’s global digital strategy.
