Some of the best things to do as a family are not necessarily the ones that you’d expect. There are many fun things to do with kids in a city that you may never have thought of and it can be very exciting to discover new places that are going to provide your family with great memories!
Some of our favorite places to take our children are museums and other learning centers. They are often filled with interactive exhibits and hands-on activities that are designed to spark a child’s curiosity in the world around them.
Luckily, there are plenty of amazing museums in most cities that offer fun for the entire family. Some of these are even free to enter, making them a must-visit for parents!
For example, the Museum of Making Music is an excellent place for your children to learn how to play an instrument. It features a musical instrument room where you can pick up and try out hundreds of instruments from all over the world.
Another great place to bring your children is the Science Center. It offers an IMAX theater, a planetarium, and many fun, interactive exhibits.
There are a lot of great museums in San Diego that are perfect for your family to enjoy. Some of them are located right in the middle of downtown.
Other places are a little further away, but they still have amazing attractions for your family to visit. For example, you can take your kids to a zoo or go on a hiking trip.
You can also get out on the water! If you are in a city that has a river, floating down it can be a really fun activities near me thing to do with your family. This can be a great activity in the summertime as well.
If you are in a city that doesn’t have a river, consider going on a guided walking tour of the city! This can be a great way to see the city in a whole new light and you will most likely get a good deal of information about the city as you are exploring it!

If your family is interested in learning about California’s coastal flora and fauna, the Living Coast Discovery Center is a must-visit! The Center is less busy than other popular animal attractions and offers fun hands-on educational exhibits that teach your children about local wildlife.
